Whether it’s a little or a lot, if you’re living with your partner or you have combined finances, they need to know how much you owe. “Don’t keep your debt a secret,” advises April Masini, a relationship and etiquette expert and author. “Disclose it early in a relationship and don’t make excuses. Be honest—and expect honesty in return.
